Osgood-Schlatter's Disease

Occurring in athletic individuals between the ages of 10 and 15, this is primarily an overuse injury of the knee. Pain just below the knee, and tenderness that is worse after exercise are a few symptoms of this condition. Like Sever’s Disease, this occurs due disturbance during a period of rapid growth (caused by intense exercise). The growth plate in this disease that is injured due to tugging of a tendon of anterior thigh muscles (quadriceps) is located in a bony area at the top of the big leg bone (tibia) just below the knee.
